Week 3 starts tonight with the Panthers traveling into Houston to take on the Texans. Our models are indicating that this will be a shootout which is much different than most sports books as they have the under/over around 43. We are a lot higher on the Texans has we have their implied run total around 21 points which is 5 points higher than Vegas. This could be a let down spot for the Panthers after coming off two big wins to start the season and also one against their division rival the Saints last week.
FanDuel Strategy
Christian McCaffrey leads our model as the best MVP option tonight but he will be very popular so being unique with your lineup construction is recommended. No one wants to play Houston in this spot. They’re a big underdog, they have a rookie QB making his first start. Then when you factor in the fact that they are playing against a Panthers defense that has had the best numbers this season as defense, we will get these guys at super low ownership. Our Model is very high on the passing game for the Texans tonight especially if this game does shootout like we are projecting it. David Mills ownership is projecting to be one of the lowest we have seen for a QB in a very long time and this is a spot where we can gain some leverage on the field. He has the 3rd highest Shark Rating and is firmly in play as a flex option. Outside of Mills we also like Chris Conley, Bradin Cooks, Anthony Miller and Andre Roberts. We are going to see alot of 4-1 Carolina heavy builds tonight so going 3 Texans and 2 Panthers or even 3 Panthers and 2 Texans tonight will be ways to be unique.
Draftkings Strategy
CMC leads our model also on DK with the highest CPT Shark Rating and he is firmly in play. With him being the CPT 53% of the time in our simulation runs and his projected ownership is around 30% at CPT this is indicating a spot where we roster him as our CPT in majority of our builds and look to be different elsewhere. Just like on FD Mills has a very high rating and he is someone that I want to target. I even like the ideal of playing him as a CPT option which will gives us the extra salary to spend up for 1-2 more spots that CMC Captain lineups would not let us. The Panthers defense is projecting to gain some ownership as well but we are not that high on them tonight and if anything our model likes them as a flex option but not as a CPT option. We will be seeing a good bit of 5-1 Carolina builds tonight that will also have the Panthers defense as well so going 3-3 or even 4-2 tonight are ways to be unique..
