Cleveland Cavaliers (-3) @ New Orleans Pelicans

The Cavs top to bottom are a pretty impressive team. Anyone would be delighted to roll out all star guards in their backcourt in Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland. The unsung heroes actually are the big guys that dominate the paint. Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen are able to do many things on both sides of the ball…score, rebound, and play stifling defense. It’s not by mistake the Cavs rank 2nd in the NBA in defensive efficiency this year.

The Pelicans look to be trending in the right direction. Getting Brandon Ingram back from injury is a huge part of that. Herbert Jones is shaping up to be a key role player, effecting the game in different ways. What concerns me in this matchup tonight is the paint presence that I stated about the Cavs. Jonas Valanciunas may be in for a long night. I think it’s a close game but one team does have a slight edge tonight.
