I believe that starting your builds with these players on each slate is a recipe for profitability over the long run. Some of these plays will be chalky but in the NBA, majority of the time the chalk is chalk for good reason as variance is not as high compared to other DFS sports.
Tyus Jones ( DK 3,400, FD 4,200)- Ja Morant is listed as doubtful tonight as he did not participate in shootaround. If he is indeed out then Tyus Jones should start and be a lock tonight on both sites as the top value on both sites. He will most likely be the highest owned player on the slate but rightfully so as this is value that I would not recommend fading. Lock him in and move on!!
Dillion Brooks ( DK 4,900 FD 5,000) – He also gets a boost with Ja Morant off the court and he is very viable on both sites. Brooks can catch hot at any moment and can easily crush his price tag on both sites. With a usage rate around 28% he is a core play on both sites.
Jimmy Butler (DK 8,600 FD 8,500)- Butler is projecting very well in our early run models tonight on both sites. With the lack of spend up options on this slate is fits fine as a raw point scorer that could easily get 40+ fantasy points in this spot. Even at 13 point favorites I still have interest in Butler.
