In this article we will look to target 4 players that are grading out well in our early projections runs that can be used as a core to start building lineups. Keep in mind that in the NBA when news comes out throughout the day a good play at 12pm ET could be an average play by the time of lock. Let’s dive in!
I believe that starting your builds with these players on each slate is a recipe for profitability over the long run. Some of these plays will be chalky but in the NBA, majority of the time the chalk is chalk for good reason as variance is not as high compared to other DFS sports.
Cameron Payne (DK 5,300, FD 6,600)- Much better price on Dk as they have him at 1.3K cheaper compared to FD but I have interest in him on both sites for sure. Chris Paul, Devin Booker and Cameron Johnson are still out so Payne usage rate will still be in the high 20s for tonight. With this game being in Orlando and only a 6.5 spread it should stay close and Payne reach a ceiling performance.
Giannis (DK 12,000, FD 11,500)- Priced up on both sites but he by far the best stud to choose from as he brings the highest floor/ceiling combo in our models for tonight. I do have some concerns with how close this game can stay but Giannis has shown upside even in blowouts as he can fill the stat sheet. I plan to lock him in for cash games and have a great amount of shares in GPPs as well.
DeAndre Ayton (Dk 6,600, FD 7,300) – We have another Suns player that is grading out very well tonight as I plan to have at least 2-3 Suns in every build on both sites. Ayton is a great Center option as he has elite upside in this matchup. With Paul and Booker off the court he sees a 6.2% usage increase and with how soft this matchup is against the Magic we could see him easily get over 6x value! Lock him in tonight on both sites.
