In this article we will look to target 4 players that are grading out well in our early projections runs that can be used as a core to start building lineups. Keep in mind that in the NBA when news comes out throughout the day a good play at 12pm ET could be an average play by the time of lock. Let’s dive in!
I believe that starting your builds with these players on each slate is a recipe for profitability over the long run. Some of these plays will be chalky but in the NBA, majority of the time the chalk is chalk for good reason as variance is not as high compared to other DFS sports.
Brandon Williams (DK 3800 FD 3500) – You probably are wondering who the hell is this guy…but, with Portland being shorthanded he will be forced to play big minutes tonight. At under 4K on both sites he is pretty much a lock in all formats. Over the past 4 games he has scored at least 15 points and with this being a pace up spot for POR we could see him have more chances to score. He will be very high owned but he is also coming up in over 48% on both sites in our early optimal lineup runs.
Jordan Poole (DK 5300 FD 4700)/ Jonathan Kuminga (DK 4600 FD 4000)- Warriors are also very shorthanded tonight as Klay Thompson, Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins, Gary Payton III are out so we can expect to see big minutes and a big usage boost for both of these guys. Both have flashed upside this season and can crush their price tags when giving 30+ mins. Fire them up with confidence on both sites.
Dejountue Murray (DK 11100, FD 9900) – With all the value we have tonight paying up for a stud would be easy on both sites and Murray is grading out as one of the best GPP spend ups on both sites. On FD at 9.9K he probably will gain a decent amount of ownership but on DK at 11.1K that price tag should keep ownership down. This is a great spot for the Spurs as the Lakers are one of the worst defensive teams in the league.
