Suns @ Pacers (-2.5)- 230.5
- The Suns made a big upgrade to their roster by getting Kevin Durant and T.J Warren at the end of the trade deadline. They are now favorites to come out of the west. Durant is still out but they could possibly have T.J Warren suit up tonight. Last night, this was a team to target for value but with Booker being back and possibly Warren there is not much to like especially on a huge slate like today. DeAndre Ayton and Jock Landale could be in play for large field GPPs as the Pacers are one of the worst rebounding teams in the league.
- Given the size of slate, I do not have much interest in the Pacers either. Tyrese Haliburton can always have a strong ceiling out and should always be in a large field GPP pool but outside of him I can not make a case for anyone.
Knicks @ 76ers (-6)- 223
- Huge slate tonight so we can cross off some games for sure. This is one that I will be crossing off as both teams play at a slow pace and also are ranked in the top 10 in defense. If anything Joel Embiid would be a strong tournament play.
Spurs @ Pistons (-4)- 236
- The Spurs traded away Jakob Poeltl and already ruled out Khem Birch so this leaves only Zach Collins as the only active big man on the roster. He is an elite value play on both sites. Outside of Collins I want to take a wait and see approach to get more news on who is active.
- The Pistons traded away Saddi Bey so this opens up at least 25-28 extra minutes for the wing players tonight. Jaden Ivey, Killan Hayes, and Alec Burks all are grading out well on both sites, I will be setting a rule of max of 1 as they will all cut into each other usage. Also we can look at Isiah Stewert and Jalen Duren as GPP plays. Pistons are a team to target tonight!
Hornets @ Celtics (-10.5)- 225.5
- The Celtics will be without Jaylin Brown and Marcus Smart so this opens up some extra usage for Derrick White, Jayson Tatum and Malcolm Brogdon. All 3 are very fine targets tonight but I would not play White and Brogdon together. The Hornets are one of the worst defensive teams in the league and they traded away Plumlee as well so I also plan on taking a few shots at Robert Williams and Al Horford.
- The Hornets are 10.5 dogs with a low team total so I plan to be very underweight on a lot of their guys. With Plumlee gone we could see Nick Richards and Mark Williams split the center minutes. Both are fine for value plays and I will not be playing them together.
Jazz @ Raptors (- 7)- 230
- The Jazz traded away Mike Conley and we saw Collin Sexton get the start for him last game. If starting again he is an elite value option on both sites. Jordan Clarkson was added to the injury so I do have some concerns with him playing. If he is out then this would give Sexton even more of a boost.
- The Raptors did get Jakob Poeltl at the trade deadline but he will most likely be out tonight. They are 7 point favorites and have a modest team total. We can look at Fred Vanvleet, Pascal Siakam, and Scottie Barnes in GPPs.
T- Wolves @ Grizzles (-7)- 234
- We have some news to wait on for the T-Wolves side as Mike Conley has a chance to suit up. I will update for this game in the template as we get more news for the day
- On the Grizzles side, my only interest is in Ja Morant and Desmond Bane
Rockets @ Heat (-12)- 220
- Eric Gordon was traded to the Clippers so this opens up a ton of usage for alot of guys on the Rockets, Even though this a touch match up I do have some interest in some of these guys. Albert Sengun and Jalen Green both get a massive usage increase and are in play. For value, I do not mind taking a few shots at KJ Martin, Dashen Nix and Josh Christopher
- Kyle Lowry is still out for the Heat, so this makes Gabe VIncent pop in projections as a solid value. The majority of my interest is with the higher priced guys though in Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro. I plan to set a rule as I do not want them together and a max of 1.
Mavericks (-1) @ Kings- 235
- We get to see Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving play together for the first time tonight as Luka was upgraded to active. We should expect Luka usage to take a hit with Irving now on the team so I plan to take a wait and see approach and roster no one from the Mavs tonight. Update 3:00PM ET, Luka Doncic is now out so this gives Kyrie Irving, Christian Wood, Josh Green, and Tim Hardaway Jr big boost.
- Domantas Sabonis has the best match up on paper for the Kings tonight and he is projecting really well on both sites. He is a strong spend up option in GPPs. Outside of Sabonis my interest is very limited for Kings tonight
Cavs (-2) @ Pelicans 223
- Not much to like in this game as both teams play at a slow pace and also a low game total. If anything taking a few shots on Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum is fine
Thunder @ Trailblazers (-3.5)- 239.5
- Highest total game on the slate tonight so we can look at both sides for options. On the Trailblazers side, Damion Lillard is a great spend up option at the guard spot as his usage rate over the past few games is up to 40%. Also Jerami Grant and Nasir Little are in play as strong mid tier/value options.
- For the Thunder, the majority of my interest is with SGA and Josh Giddey. Both are ball dominant guards so I would not play them together unless in game stacks of this game. If I had to choose between the two then SGA would be my preferred choice.
Bucks @ Clippers(-1)- 227
- Great game to watch but my interest for DFS is very low. In large field GPPs I am ok with landing on Giannis, Paul George or Norman Powell but that is really about it.
