In this article we will look to identify our top pitchers and stacks for tonight’s main slate. I believe that starting your builds with these players on each slate is a recipe for profitability over the long run.

 

Top Pitchers To Consider

 

• Gerrit Cole ( FD 1100, DK 10400)-  Leads tonight slate with the highest shark rating by a wide margin. Cole gets a juicy match-up against a Royals team that will be without Salvador Perez, Bobby Whit and also Andrew Bentindi, who was just traded to the Yankees a few days ago. Pitching is loaded tonight; so Cole is not a must but I do expect to be way over the field on both sites.

 

 

• Lance Lynn (FD 7500, DK 6800)-  Lynn is grading out very well tonight in our pitching model as he is the point per dollar pitcher on the slate tonight. He has struggled so far this season, but this is a get right match up against one of the weakest offenses in the league. Very strong SP2 on DK and even in play as a spend down pitching option on FD.

 

 

 

• Shane Bieber ( FD 10600, DK 8900)-   Shane has not pitched to his previous standards so far this year but he gets a match up against Tampa Bay tonight which is a spot where he can flash his upside. He is priced up on FD but I do have a good bit of interest in him on DK.

 

 

 

Overall Pitching Thoughts

 

Pitching is loaded tonight and I can really make a case for at least 12 pitchers. I normally stick to 5-6 pitchers in my pool so I have to make some cuts tonight to some very good options. I would recommend going with the 3 guys listed above and I would also add in Blake Snell, Alex Cobb, and Patrick Sandoval.

 

 

 

Top Stacks To Target

 

• LA Dodgers (Projected Run Total in Our Model 7.08)-   Dodgers lead our model again tonight as they are once again in a fantastic spot. The match up is not as great as last night but they are still grading out as the top stack on both sites. They will be high owned once again and this slate is much bigger than last night so there is always a GPP scenario where we can fade them for a lower owned stack.

 

 

 

• Toronto Blue Jays (Projected run total in our model 5.23)-  If looking for the GPP pivot off the Dodgers then look no further as the Blue Jays are the clear pivot off the Dodgers. The Tigers are projected to pitch a bullpen game tonight as Garcia is a reliever  who normally does not go deep into games so the Blue Jays will have ample amount of chances to have success against a mediocre bullpen at best. Very strong stack on both sites.

 

 

Overall Hitting Thoughts

 

Dodgers are by far the top stack on both sites tonight so targeting them in most formats is my preferred approach. As the day goes on and we get more of an understanding of projected ownership, it will be a matter of if they are over-owned or under  owned for GPPs. If wanting to pivot off them then the Blue Jays, Cardinals, Phillies and Braves would be my ideal team to stack.
