In this article we will look to identify our top pitchers and stacks for tonight’s main slate. I believe that starting your builds with these players on each slate is a recipe for profitability over the long run.
Top Pitchers To Consider
- Gerrit Cole ( FD 10300, DK 10500)- Leads our pitcher model tonight with the highest shark rating on both sites as this is a great spot for him. The Rays lineup is still watered down due to some key injuries and they also are striking out at a high rate this year as well. Very strong option on both sites tonight.
- Corbin Burnes ( FD 10800, DK 9900)- Cardinals are a very hot team right now but Burnes has elite stuff with a strikeout % over 30 % so far this season. He is pretty priced up on FD, but on DK at 9.9K he is a very strong pairing option with Cole.
- Max Fried (FD 9800. DK 9500)- Sneaky low owned option and a great GPP pivot off Burnes tonight on DK. Max does not have the strikeout upside that the guys listed above have, but this is a great run prevention spot for him as we only have SF projected to score around 3.5 runs. I recommend to have some shares of Fried tonight, especially on DK.
Overall Pitching Thoughts
I plan to have a very tight pitching pool tonight with the 3 guys listed above. Early builds have guys like Yu Darvish and Shane McClanahan coming in a tad bit over-owned, so if ownership stays around the same then I plan to have a fade on those guys. Salary on DK is not as tight tonight so going with a double stud build of Cole/Burnes is my ideal way to approach the slate with Fried being the GPP pivot off Burnes. On FD I plan to just start builds with Cole and then look at Burnes/Fried in my 20 max builds.
Top Stacks To Target
- Toronto Blue Jays- Normally I would not recommend to stack against Lance Lynn but he has looked very bad coming back from his injury so far this season. The weather is also projecting to be great as well which would give the Blue Jays even more of hitting boost. We have them projected for a little over 5 runs and they also lead the slate in projected HRs as well. Fire them up with confidence on both sites especially if ownership stays this low.
s
- Kansas City Royals- Ahh man, I love targeting Noah every time he is on the slate! Tonight is no different as we have the Royals as one of the best point per dollar stacks on both sites. Even though the Royals are not one of the fancy offenses in the league they have the ability to string along timely hits and have a lot of stolen bases upside. What also is very intriguing is that we can get them at very low ownership tonight on both sites. This is by far one of my favorite GPP stacks.
Overall Hitting Thoughts
Across the DFS industry you will see talks about the Angels and Red Sox being the best teams to stack tonight and rightfully so as they are in great spots and also have high implied team total. Just keep in mind that they will be two of the highest owned teams by time the slate locks so if playing these stacks you will have to get different elsewhere in order to climb the leader boards. I will have some shares of them for sure but mostly as one offs or mini stacks. I also plan to target the White Sox and Brewers for one off power and mini stacks as well.
