It’s that time of the year again! Major League Baseball is back, and the Sharks couldn’t be more excited. Last year’s season did not disappoint, and more fireworks should be in place for this year. We expect this to be a season unlike any other in recent years with all of the rule changes we have. With that being said, we have the MLB futures to lock in before opening day.
American League Central Winner
Cleveland Guardians (+130)
What the Guardians accomplished in 2022 was pretty amazing. The emergence of Oscar Gonzales and All MLB 2nd teamer Andres Gimenez was key to this team’s success last year. They went to toe-to-toe with the Yankees ,and had opportunities to beat them in the post season. What they were missing was more power in the lineup. Adding Josh Bell and a healthy Mike Zunino is exactly what this team needed. Shane Bieber leading the way as the ace is one of the best in the game. Triston McKenzie will start off the season on the IL, but when he comes back we expect this to be a strong one-two punch in the division. The bullpen should be back in the swing of things as well to keep a stout pitching staff. Typically when it comes to future bets, +130 isn’t something to back flip about. But this squad will take this division by storm for an easy pay day.
American League MVP
Jose Ramirez (+1500)
If you notice above, we didn’t mention the heart and soul of that Guardians team. We wanted to dedicate this portion of our article strictly for him. 3rd base the past few years as been led by the likes of Manny Machado and Nolan Arenado. Closing the gap for 2023 will be this guy. One of his biggest advantages will be the shift rule. Regardless of what side he bats from as being a switch hitter, defenses won’t be able to load up on either side with the shift rule. Expect his stats to improve even more from the 280. average, 29 homeruns, and 126 RBIs.
National League MVP
Trea Turner (+1000)
The stars are aligning for Trea Turner to lead this Phillies team to success. With Bryce Harper looking to eye a return back to the lineup by the All Star break, and Rhys Hoskins out with a season ending ACL injury, the Phillies will have to look no further than their newest addition to lead the team. What has Trea trending upward is the new addition of the pick off rule, and pitch clock. This is one of the league’s best contact hitters by far. With the new rules look for him to cause complete havoc on the base paths for opposing pitchers. We love the Trea for NL MVP tickets.
National League Cy Young
Max Scherzer (+800)
Another one of our futures comes via a rule change. Max Scherzer has a theory that pitchers will now be able to dictate the pace of the game. He has been vocal, and even testing and pushing the limits of his boundaries on March 3 in Spring Training against the Washington Nationals. He ended up getting called for a balk and toying with the Nats at the plate to showcase his dominance against his former team. Look for the 3X Cy Young winner to add more hardware to his trophy case by the end of the season.
American League Rookie of The Year
Gunner Henderson (+350)
The favorite to win the AL ROY is none other than Gunner Henderson. He comes in showing flashes of what could be the future of this young Baltimore Orioles team. He is a 5 tool baseball player that can become one of the premier players in the league. Not too many players can say that they hit a homerun in their major league debut, but he can. And with a name like Gunner Henderson, you have no choice but to be a “bad ass”.
