After the All Star Break, we are getting a higher level of competition in the NBA. Teams are looking to put it all together, or tank the season out for higher draft lottery odds. What we have on the radar for tonight is none other than the Boston Celtics, and New York Knicks. Out of the few teams playing today, this game has the closest spread at 2.5 points in favor of the Celtics. In spite of being on the road, and Jaylen Brown being out tonight, The Celtics are the favorites. Opposing players dream of big nights in the Garden, so we can expect Jayson Tatum to be aggressive on this stage.
If there’s one team that needs a statement win, it would be the Knicks tonight. Since the trade for Josh Hart, the Knicks are undefeated with a 5-0 record. We’re not saying that Hart is the savior or anything, but they are actually playing good basketball under Coach Thibs. Regardless who agrees with Coach Thibs rotations, or senile views on defense in today’s NBA, he may be figuring out what works and doesn’t for his squad. In recent games RJ Barrett hasn’t been on the floor with the closing lineup in the final minutes of contest. Similar games earlier in the year actually were losses, but somehow this team is closing out games. We can go on all day about Thibs and his questionable calls. (Derrick Rose doesn’t play nightly for the guy that arguably ran him in the ground back in Chicago.) Somehow they are one of the hottest teams at the moment, and will challenge Boston tonight.
