Alabama

They come into this game with a lot of momentum from beating Cincy by 3+ TDs and also with confidence by beating the Dawgs in the SEC championship in early December. Alabama plays at an extremely fast pace and  also are a very pass heavy team as well as Young is averaging over 36 pass attempts per game. Nick Saban has a tendency to lean on the run game to open big games and continue when they get a lead so the play calling script may be a tad bit different tonight as it was against Cincy.  The only difference is that Georgia as a very stout front seven and in the SEC championship Kirby Smart and is team decided to play more of a zone approach and allow their front 4 to get pressure. Young was able to sit back and have a enough time which allowed him to throw for over 420 yards and 3 TDs. You would have to think that Smart and his team will have a different approach tonight and look to bring some pressure.

From a fantasy standpoint the Crimson Tide offense is very concentrated now that Meechie is out. We saw Brian Robinson  take on a very big workload last game from the backfield as only Trey Sanders  touched the ball 7 times outside of Robinson. We are projecting for another big workload night for Robinson again and his ceiling could be reached especially if Georgia decides  to bring pressure and force quick throws- Outside of Robinson we are projecting to see a huge workload for Jameson Williams as he leads the team with 1,496 yards receiving on 11 targets per game. If comparing his workload to some NFL players he is projecting to get Cooper Kupp/ Devante Adams type of volume tonight. Outside of Williams we can take a few shots on some of the cheaper skill players in Ja’Corey Brooks, Slade Bolden and Jahleel Billingsley.

Georgia

They also come into this game with a lot of momentum from beating Michigan by 3+ TDs but they have a bad taste in their mouth from the lost to Bama in the SEC championship. We have to think that they want revenge tonight in a big way as this game means way more than the SEC championship game they lost in December. Georgia typically play at a very slow pace and they lean heavy on the run game so I am very interested to see if they are able to slow Alabama pace down or Alabama makes then speed  their  pace up. Last game UGA got behind early so this made them at a very fast pace as  Stetson Bennett threw 48 times for 340 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. If they train  again tonight he will be asked to do the same again.

Their backfield differs from Alabama backfield as they use a running back by committee approach. Zamir White is the 1st and 2nd down back as he sees the bulk of his carries early and James Cook is the change of pace back but we are projecting both to play a major role in the backfield tonight.I would look to only roster one of them in the same lineup as it is rare that both of them hit their ceiling in the same game. They also mix in Kendall Milton and Kenny McIntosh but they both have a limited role compared to White and Cook. If anything I like the idea of using them as a punt option on both sites but not not together. On the passing side Brock Bowers is the clear top target as he is projecting to see a big workload tonight. He is clear the Dawgs top pass catcher and he can be considered as a low owned CPT/MVP option. If ownership gets to high on him he can be worth a fade in large field GPPs.  Adonai Mitchell makes the most sense as the next guy to target in this passing game but he does have a limited role compared to Bowers. If looking for any other punt options from the UGA side then Pickens, Washington or Jackson makes the most sense.

Lineup Construction Insights

DK–  I plan to start my builds with either Bryce Young or Jameson Williams as they are projecting really well tonight and have a great chance of becoming the optimal CPT. They both are very expensive at the CPT so going down to some of the cheaper value options will be needed. Guys like Jahleel Billingsley and Ja’Corey Brooks are in play for value. I plan to go with a 4-2 Alabama centered build tonight and looking to leave at least 500 dollars or more on the table in order to be unique.

FD-  Showdowns are always different on FD as we have to have the highest scoring player rostered at the MVP spot in order to be in the running for a 1st place prize. With that being the case this really makes me want to go with Bryce Young or Jameson Williams as they have the highest chance of being the optimal MVP. If going this route then we need value as well so Jahleel Billingsley is in play as well as a cheap value option. Majority of optimal builds are centered around Alabama tonight on FD as well so I plan to have at least 3-4 Bama players in every build.
